Frequently Asked Questions
Session Fees
Initial Appointment (90 minutes): $390
This longer session allows time for a comprehensive history, goal setting, and a clear plan moving forward.
Standard Session (50 minutes): $260
Applies to individual therapy, parent support sessions, and family therapy unless otherwise arranged.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I kindly ask for at least 2 full business days’ notice. Cancellations made with less notice, or non-attendance, will incur the full session fee, as it's usually not possible to reallocate the time at short notice. Thank you for your understanding.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed to access therapy – you're welcome to get in touch directly. However, if you'd like to access Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan, you'll need a referral from your GP or paediatrician. I also accept NDIS referrals (self-managed or plan-managed).
Do you see adults as well as children and adolescents?
Yes! While I specialise in supporting children, teens, and families, I also work with adults – particularly those who are neurodivergent, exploring identity, navigating parenting, or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
Do you work with neurodivergent clients?
Absolutely. I work with clients across the lifespan who are autistic, ADHDers, or otherwise neurodivergent – including those diagnosed in childhood or later in life. My practice is neurodiversity-affirming, inclusive, and responsive to individual needs and sensory profiles.
Can I use NDIS funding for sessions?
Yes – if you're self-managed or plan-managed, you can use NDIS funding to access psychological therapy. I’ll provide invoices and documentation to support you with your plan goals. Please contact me to discuss how I can support you or your child under the NDIS.
How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Frequency depends on your goals and needs – we’ll decide together what feels sustainable and supportive. For some, weekly sessions are helpful; for others, fortnightly or monthly check-ins work best.
How do I get started?
You can fill out the registration form or send an email to get in touch. I’ll respond as soon as possible and guide you through the next steps, whether that's booking an initial consultation, completing paperwork, or just having a chat to see if we’re a good fit.
Medicare Rebates
If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP or paediatrician, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Please bring your referral and MHCP to your first session if you’d like to claim the rebate.
I do not bulk bill (i.e. only charge the Medicare rebate) for my services. My therapy and assessment fees are more than the rebate amount and need to be paid in full prior to making a cliam from Medicare. You will be left with an out of pocket expense from each session, however these expenses will count towards your Medicare safety net.
How do you make a claim from Medicare? Once I have a copy of the referral and the full session fee is paid, I will email you a receipt with all of the information required by Medicare for a successful claim (including full Medicare details, referring doctor and date of referral etc). You can then provide Medicare with the receipt using the app or by visiting your closest Medicare branch. The rebate will be deposited into your nominated bank account.
Have you lost track of how many services you have claimed under the plan? Call Medicare on 132 011 and they will be able to let you know.
NDIS Participants
I welcome self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you’re seeking psychological therapy for a child or young person under the NDIS, I’d be happy to discuss how I can support your family and align with your plan goals. Invoices are provided in line with NDIS billing requirements.
Please note that I am not currently able to accept NDIA-managed clients.
Payment and Cancellations
Payment is preferred however not required on the day of your session. Invoices will be sent via email and can be paid by bank transfer.
